WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK YOUR RAFTING TRIP?
We highly recommend booking your trip as soon as you have a date set. You can easily do this online or by phoning into our office at 719 250 6404. After you've scheduled your rafting trip, you will automatically receive a confirmation to your email address on file. Your confirmation email will cover location & directions, a gear list of the most common items needed, you raft trip times and of course the confirmed date of your trip.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR WHITE WATER RAFTING TRIP
After you have booked your whitewater rafting trip, the rest is easy. You should expect an easy 2-hour drive from Denver or a 1-hour drive from Colorado Springs. These two locations are the most common destinations our guests visit from. Another option is to book your accommodations with us directly. We offer both large scale Vacation Rentals & new Riverside Yurts at right at the Royal Gorge Adventure Beach. Just arrive, check in, and we will take care of your group after that. Get your gear, become prepared with a pre-trip orientation on the do's and don'ts of rafting and we are on our way. Of course one of the huge perks of the Royal Gorge Adventure Beach is that you are at the center of the adventure at hand so you will be able to enjoy the shortest shuttles available anywhere! One way shuttles are the absolute best!

OUR WHITEWATER RAFTS & RIVER GEAR
On your adventure, all of the river gear is being provided free of charge. This is more than a perk. It is often gear that would be necessary to keep you comfortable on the river. We provide wet suits, river boots (we encourage you to bring a familiar pair of your own sneakers you don't mind getting wet though) splash jackets, PDF, paddles, and helmets.

The Rafts we use are State Of The Art Rafts - Literally - The Brand Sotar is an acronym for just that. These rafts are military grade high-performance rafts that are the raft of choice by professionals paddles the world over. Sotar rafts are extremely rigid as they are made out of a PVC material and not rubber. Rubber can flex a lot more. Maybe you have heard the term "taco" before? That is when a raft bends so much it resembles a taco and when this happens, and on the recoil, the tomatoes, lettuce, and chicken or beef end up in the river. We prefer our taco's after rafting, and we prefer you to stay in the boat.

WHITEWATER RAFTING ORIENTATION
Upon arrival at Colorado Adventure Tours - Royal Gorge Adventure Beach, Our guides will spell out all of the important information via a pre-trip orientation before you get your adventure underway. They will teach you how to paddle efficiently, explain the various commands they will be using, and will go over a few swimming techniques for you should you end up on an unexpected swim. It is typical that your guide will do a play by play of the entire pre-trip orientation on the raft.
